From time to time The Weekend Photographer takes on video projects. This one features Portland artist William Hernandez and the students from Stephenson Elementary School, who transform three school walls using beautiful vibrant colors into welcoming murals. The video features Stephenson’s principal, Carlos Galindo, who initiated the idea and drove funding needed to make this project a reality. The murals were painted over the course of 4 weeks in spring of 2023 and represent inclusivity and connection in Stephenson as a school and as a community.
